– interactive, sensor, organic interface
Botanicus Interacticus is a technology for designing highly expressive interactive plants, both living and artificial. Driven by the rapid fusion of computing and living spaces, we take interaction from computing devices and place it in the physical world using living plants as an interactive medium.
This project was developed during my time at Disney Research Pittsburgh. My part was to do research on how we could utilize the novel Touché sensor with organic matter. This included writing the software, optimizing the sensor as well as researching the modes of interaction.
Botanicus Interacticus was exhibited at SIGGRAPH 2012 (Emerging Technologies). The exhibition was developed together with Studio NAND, TheGreenEyl and Christian Riekoff.
